"HHS has already mandated Covid-19 vaccinations for health care workforce"
WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 24, 2021) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today called on the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to require Covid-19 vaccinations for all Ryan White grantees – including staff working under the State AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs). With the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) granting full approval to the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer, BioNTech, it is in the public health interest to require the vaccination for any personnel who could encounter clients living with HIV/AIDS.

"Covid-19 dictates annual recertification rather than every six months"
WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 28, 2021) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today called on the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) and State AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs) to reduce existing barriers to care by moving to annual program recertification. The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has further yielded the existing six-month recertification policy requirement obsolete. Both patients and providers characterize it as overly burdensome.

"One of the District’s longest-serving, non-profit residential substance use treatment programs in danger of closing"
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 29, 2021) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) joined twenty-seven organizations urging the District of Columbia’s Mayor Muriel Bowser to direct the Department of Behavioral Health to immediately allocate and release the $17.9 million awarded via federal Covid-19 response laws – including the CARES Act and American Rescue Plan. Both laws were passed as emergency measures targeted at addressing the immediate financial impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, with an obvious intent to provide "bridge" funding to entities already providing critically necessary services to the District of Columbia.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 14, 2021) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today applauded the Biden-Harris Administration decision to reverse the ‘broad disinvestment’ in nondefense discretionary spending set by the previous administration. Domestic public health programs are big winners under the budget blueprint, including a $267 million increase in funding for Ending HIV Epidemic.

"Coping with Covid-19 through hope, trust & gratitude"
WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 24, 2021) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today announced it would host a series of virtual patient support meetings next month providing useful coping skills to assist people living with chronic health conditions – such as HIV/AIDS – during the ongoing novel Coronavirus pandemic ("Covid-19"). The virtual patient support meetings will address Covid-19-related anxiety, depression & stress. The meetings are free to all stakeholder groups.

"Trump Administration’s eleventh-hour proposed demonstration project would have undermined Medicare’s six protected classes policy and its essential patient safeguard for beneficiaries living with HIV"
WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 17, 2021) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today praised the Biden-Harris Administration decision to suspend the harmful demonstration project authorized under Medicare Part D, which would have limited patient access to medications covered by the six protected classes policy. The demo, which was unveiled in the waning hours of the Trump Administration, was greeted with widespread condemnation from the patient advocacy community, including HIV stakeholders.

"Online survey unveiled with the Community Access National Network, Community Education Group, HealthHIV and Legacy Health Endowment"
WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 9, 2021) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) – in collaboration with the Community Access National Network, Community Education Group, HealthHIV and Legacy Health Endowment – today launched an online survey on Covid-19 for people living with HIV/AIDS. The groups are encouraging HIV-positive individuals residing in the United States to complete the brief survey, regardless if they tested positive for Covid-19.

"Medicare’s six protected classes policy is an essential patient safeguard for beneficiaries living with HIV"
WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 29, 2021) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today, urged the Biden-Harris Administration to pump the brakes on the harmful demonstration project authorized under Medicare Part D, which would undermine important patient protections. Left unchecked the change would limit patient access to medications covered by the six protected classes policy.
